Zane won bronze medal in kata. Great job!!! Here is his experience from the event.
My overall experience at Nationals
I felt like the practices and training made me strong. I felt powerful and strong. Training helped me to do good. It was hard work and sometimes I felt like giving up but it was worth it.
The flight there was really long and it was really long flying back. I was surprised when we got to Cincinnati and excited. I was so happy and surprised because I love hotels. We got to practice and I was shocked that it was so big but I had fun.
On the day of the tournament there were so many kids and I was shocked. I was very excited but shy and it was a very long day for all of us. I was very happy that my cousin Zarian, my sister Zena, and my brother Zander won medals. We all got to bring home a medal. I was happy to meet some of the fighters, Nick and Gunnar, they were super cool. I felt happy bringing a medal home. I was happy that my mom, dad, and aunty were there to.
When I was doing my kata, I was nervous. I had to do my kata a few times and was so happy when I won. When I was doing my kumite, I was trying to do my best. This trip was very fun and exciting for me. I was happy getting a bronze medal, I know it wasn't a silver or gold but at least I got something. I was proud that Zander got bronze, Zena got gold and silver, and I was so awesome that Zarian got two golds and proud of him to. I was proud of myself.
We got to walk around with Sensei, watch black belts compete, visit King's Island, visit Cincinnati Zoo, and watch the Cincinnati Reds baseball game. I really wanted to see the dinosaurs and I did. I also got to see a polar bear, a wolf, a gorilla, and feed a giraffe. The trip was super cool and I had so much fun with my family. The tournament made me nervous but I had fun and it was really good to be there.
